Predoctoral Students
Cecilia Tomori
Cecilia is a pre-doctoral fellow and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Michigan.
Her research interests include the construction of relatedness, personhood, reproduction, embodiment and language ideologies.
Cecilia is currently beginning her dissertation research on parenting practices among breastfeeding parents of infants in the Ann Arbor area. She is particularly interested in how sleeping arrangements fit in with various approaches to caregiving, such as feeding, holding/carrying, bathing, and playing with and talking to the baby.
Cecilia received her undergraduate training at Swarthmore College in Biology and Education. Before pursuing graduate studies in anthropology, she was a health services researcher at Northwestern University. In her free time, Cecilia enjoys spending time outdoors and on the playgrounds with her husband, Kerry, and their two children, Jakob and Adrian.
